    Blog categories...again

Both, really. Although categories for blogs is more or a priority for my site's needs. This is exactly the same way we use blogs. We really need a way to categorize and/or sort the main list by topic or genre. I'd also love to see custom fields for blogs, but that's for another topic. Categories within blogs are also a great idea. Ideally, this would be controlled by permissions so we could disable it by user group.

This is a custom .htaccess to use on the IPS Community Suite Forums. It helps to improve your forums Google Page Speed and YSlow scores. The top segment is the same .htaccess that is generated by the IPS Forum software. This segment is Invision Power Services code and I do not claim it as my own. All rights and credit for this segment of the .htaccess are Invision Power Services. The bottom segment is based upon research of several websites and the references listed below. Please be careful when using this file because the contents may be incompatible with your server setup. Preventative measures have been taken to ensure that it should be safe to use in any Apache based environment. Google recommends a minimum of one week: https://developers.google.com/speed/docs/insights/LeverageBrowserCaching GTmetrix recommends a minimum of one month: https://gtmetrix.com/leverage-browser-caching.html

    Support for Amazon AWS SES

I used Sendgrid based on the recommendation of the IPS staff and because support is built into IPS. Unfortunately the price of Sendgrid is 10x that of Amazon's SES simple email service. I just switched over to Amazon SES and am stuck using the SMTP route rather than via the API because there isn't native support via IPS like there is for Sendgrid. I'd like to ask for or vote for IPS adding support for Amazon SES, just like it supports Sendgrid.

i have never liked that sidebar widget there is no continuity from levels - at the least it should behave like an accordion and allow you full navigation level by level.
  17. 1 point
That's ... A lot of work when your real purpose is to simply provide a comparative description LOL. In general, when you write your stuff for the paid subscription, make it a comparative description so users can see the increase. Don't just say "1000 PM limit." Do something like "Increase from 50 PM to 1000 PM."
  18. 1 point
Leave them alone. The purpose of subscriptions is to enhance member privileges, right? So there's no benefit to define a free subscription that does nothing. Every community already has a free subscription. It's called registration. The only time a free subscription makes sense is if you're offering an enhancement. Your tiers would look something like: - Default registration - Default registration + free membership that changes permission (But then my question becomes why don't you just make the membership permissions part of your default registration for all users. Why make users opt in?) - Default registration + paid membership

No, I have not. A pull request is a way for people to contribute with code changes to a repository, where you would develop the requested feature(s), and hand it over to the repository and the rest of the community. I've mentioned several times in this topic that I do not have time to add new stuff to this app at the moment.

This plugin allows you to specify countries, regions or cities where people can or can not register on your website from. You can set a type of restrictions: blacklist or whitelist. It also can detect visitors from the Tor anonymous network and block registration attempts for them. It's a convenient way to block spammers from some countries and annoying users who use Tor. Please, keep in mind, that geolocation information by the IP address is not 100% accurate. Sometimes it can detect only a country without a city or a region. You can check what the plugin knows about a certain IP by using http://ip-api.com. For countries and regions abbreviations, please, use ISO 3166-2.

it can already do coupons, i use them myself, add a coupon in he normal way and voila, however, that coupon will go across all plans, you cannot assign it to just one subscription plan. My users manage their payments via /clients/orders/ and that seems good enough.

    Blog categories...again

But please, IPS, make categories behave like filters and not like categories! If I have a menu structure like this - Food -- Apples -- Bananas I want both Apples and Banana content to be displayed under the Food menu and not another "There is nothing here yet" block (like we have it in Downloads categories).

    Blog categories...again

Exactly. Quite honestly, while I love what's been done with Blogs so far, if they can't be organised into Categories they just list as some amorphous mass... To use my own situation as an example, I have a series of public and user blogs but I'd also like a separate private Category with which to organise my Client (b)logs.

    Blog categories...again

Yes, please. Without categories, it doesn't take many blogs for things to become unwieldy.
