  1. I can't begin to say how much I love this program. With very little coding experience a little photoshop can make my site look amazing. Still, have a lot of work ahead of me but I now know that I picked the right host. That's all just wanted to shout that out for other people considering investing.

  2. Our recent release of Invision Community 4.2 was the most well-received version ever! The feedback we received on new features like Clubs, Reactions, and Promotes was better than we could have hoped and we really enjoyed seeing all the creative uses as people implemented them on their own communities. We have been hard at work on version 4.3 with a goal of improving on all the great new features. It is well under way and we are happy to able to start announcing what's new over the next few weeks. Invision Community 4.3 will not only contain new features but also have a core focus on refinement from 4.2's new features. You will see many improvements to Clubs, new integration options, large application improvements, new promotional features, and more changes large and small. You can expect to see news posts about new features and changes very soon with a release date in early 2018. Follow our news section or subscribe to our newsletter to receive updates.

Because i am loving to do this work inside that product And my company loved the results because it provide fast, quality develop and non-technical users can operate that by theyself without calling me for some changes. Thanks IPS. You make a good product!

  4. Hi there @Lindy asked me to follow up with more detail on search feedback so thought I'd do it on the forums here. I just have just three suggestions. 1. Relevancy of results Search needs to be more forgiving and suggest alternate terms or corrected terms if a typo is made. I think visitors can be turned off if they have no results returned but might be better encouraged if it suggests an alternate term. e.g. something like this: Also it needs a stemming analyzer (something Elasticsearch has) to match variations of words. e.g. test vs tested vs testing. All these return vastly different results on IPS whereas IMO they should return similar results. 2. Presentation of Search Results and Interface It needs to be more simple. The quick-search itself is fine but if a member wants to filter their results further it should be easy, currently you are overwhelmed by a page full of advanced search options on IPS. One approach I like is the way Threadloom has done their results: https://www.homesteadingtoday.com/threadloom/search?query=homesteading The searchable content types are in tabs: And you can easily filter further using the options just below the search box: I also really like the way image results are presented in a grid here, whereas on IPS they are presented using the Activity Feed template, a row for each image which can lead to long scrolling of pages. It also lets you toggle the details of the image results: Maybe on IPS image results can use the same template as IP.Gallery ? 3. Quicksearch should always be set to Everything This is just my opinion, and may differ from community to community. I think the Quicksearch should automatically search "Everything" no matter what content type you're viewing. The feedback I've been getting is on my community rarely do my members want to search within a thread, they're using it to quickly navigate to other content and constantly have to change the content type search to "Everything."

  6. Until they started adding all these colour and gender versions, I never once associated the emoji with an actual colour/gender representation, but now they've forced an association... does that mean I have to post the same emoji in 5 colours in both genders so that I don't offend some specific person who gets offended over a colour or gender of an emoji. Anyway, not that's its an IPS problem. Its the old, lets fight putting people in a box by making more boxes. Works every time... not.

  8. The $orientation variable just defines whether the content is called in a sidebar block or not. It doesn’t have anything to do with collapsing content and changing the appearance during the collapsing. Easiest option to achieve what you want: output your content twice and wrap each one with the respective ipsRensponsive code. So you don’t have to worry about dynamically creating a carousel. It’s alway there but will only show once the page size drops to “tablet” or “phone”.

  14. Whatever the purpose of a community - be it customer support, fan engagement, interest-based groups and so on - there's usually a need for site staff to communicate important information to users. Of course, in some cases this information is best suited to a site announcement, which by design has a lot of visibility and authority. But it's important that day to day staff posts stand out too. As we'll discuss in future articles, a key part of engagement is that users see your organization's team interacting with the community. In many cases, users will expect and appreciate acknowledgement from your community team, and by highlighting those responses you can add a visible stamp of authority. Invision Community has a few different tools to help you highlight staff posts, so let's take a look at them in more detail. Group badges With group badges you can upload a small image that is shown beside a user's posts. It's shown alongside the user's group name, so you don't need to repeat that text. Each group can have a different badge, perfect for communities that structure their staff groups based on role type. It's common to color-code group badges for easier identification - support as green, product development as blue, and so on (and you may want to coordinate these colors with the prefix and suffix you use, which we cover later in this article). It's not just staff groups that can have badges, either; your regular member groups can too. However, a word of caution! If every group has a badge, they may lose their distinctiveness. We recommend reserving group badges for those groups you specifically want to draw attention to. Post highlights Second is a feature more explicitly designed to highlight a post rather than simply draw attention to the author. Group settings in Invision Community enable you to choose to have posts by users in each group show with a distinctive background color and border. The color is defined by your theme and so is easily configurable, too. As with group badges, it may be tempting to highlight every group's content, but we recommend not doing so as that reduces the overall impact of the feature. Keep it reserved for your key staff groups, and especially those that regularly interact with the community. Group prefix/suffix Invision Community allows you to define a custom prefix and suffix for each group. This is used in key locations, including to highlight usernames in the Active User block and to style member group names alongside content. An important part of this feature is that it accepts HTML tags, which gives you a lot of scope for customizing the display by adding an opening and closing HTML tag to the prefix and suffix settings, respectively. For example, let's say we want to add a shield icon before the name, and make the text purple. Prefix: <span style='color: #9013FE'><i class='fa fa-shield'></i> Suffix: </span> Simple! Now our staff members will display in the Active User block and elsewhere like this: Bonus feature: Staff activity streams I wanted to also mention a feature that achieves a slightly different goal to those we covered above, but nonetheless is an important way to bring additional visibility to staff content: activity streams. As well as an overall “All Activity” stream that shows everything happening in the community, Invision Community allows you to define pre-made streams that are available to all users. You can use this to build streams of content with particular tags, certain types of content - or, as in this case, content by users in specific groups. Simply create a new activity stream in the Admin Control Panel, set the configuration so that it only pulls content from members in your staff groups, and you're done. Users will now be able to visit the stream page to get a handy overview of everything staff members are doing in your community. I recommend checking out the other filter options available for streams while you're setting this up - there's a huge amount of power available! Summing up I hope this quick overview of content highlighting features has been useful. When users visit your community, they're usually looking for authoritative information and that often comes right from your own team. By utilizing the features we've discussed here, you can make that information stand out more against the other content in your community.

  15. When a member of a social network sign in to the ips suite, its profile photo from that social network is uploaded as a profile photo and in the ips suite. That's fine, but for this member. What is the effect on your suite? As soon as 4.0 was released I saw a new car moving very fast on the highway. Now 4.2 x is even capable of flying But, profile photos from other social networks, if I use the allegory from above, are like a blocked brake for your car. When your site has several members with such profile photos online, speed your site loading sharply drops - as if the gallop racing has become a turtle ... What to do - I think when a member is sign in with a profile from a social network, his profile photos must: - to resize as the admin site has set up in "Maximum profile photo width/height ..." for groups - to be stored in a uploads directory - to load to show from a server on your site Now all such profile photos are loaded from different social networking servers. This is a great brake in speed loading site. Please developers IPS think and solve this issue.

    Choose Topic Embed Image

I posted a topic asking why it was not possible, as an admin, to change the image that's used when you embed a link to another topic on your IPS forum. Nobody replied after awhile, and I was tired of looking at a topic that had a picture of The Dude from The Big Lebowski as the first embedded image, so I commissioned @Adriano Faria to build this plugin. It works wonderfully, and simply. It shows you every image embedded in the topic in a paginated list. You choose the one you want to represent the topic whenever it's linked to elsewhere in the IPS suite, and click a button. BAM, you're done. Past, present, and future embedded topics are updated with the new image, and YOU regain control over what the embedded links look like. It's clean, simple, and does exactly what it sets out to do. Any mod or admin has permission to use it as it's tucked out of the way most of the time in the "Moderator Actions" menu.

  22. Actually, based on your examples, the second example is more egregious than the third, in terms of the size of the numbered item vs. the text. I guess your point/issue here is the numbered list items don't scale accordingly with the list font sizes they are associated with?

Innvisionpower support answer me: The @Upgradeovec solution is a custom css: .ipsType_richText img { max-width: 640px; max-height: 480px; } and works fine! Many thanks to @Upgradeovec

  30. It may be issue with some css rules or something plugins (and/or editor plugins). Can you share link to your forum for check it? You can check it by yourself with see network tab in console and see ajax answer from forum (what it return in image code). If it return right width/height values - so you got some redefine this value from something. See css applied styles to editor and post. If that checking is not easy for you - try to enable default style to your admin group, switch to default theme is check it again. If issue not reproduce - you know what is source of problem ) If not - try to temporary disable 3rd party apps/plugins (editor too) and check again. Remote images in default forums worked well. I didn't got any problems with that. Some other case for that - way to paste remote images. IPS text parser worked as black-list of tags and that attributes. So if somebody paste image to the editor with copy element from some other website, where it created as div tag with background image and browser copied it with that visual - then text parser may miss it from redefine dimensions.

  33. @pequeno I've been trying to reproduce this issue here on the IPS forums as one member posted an external image on my forum where the height was unrestricted. e.g. this 1690x1018 image: https://s.hswstatic.com/gif/water-life-crop.jpg It seems to cap at 450px in height. Can't seem to reproduce it here..

I used this as the foundation to migrate a custom registry application for antique garden tractors with about 1200 records. Though I did not use the.built in make/model structures used to import Garages data, having all the blocks, feeds, and GUI already created made this conversion far, far easier than developing a custom Pages application. Now I have an app that is being maintained and enhanced in the marketplace, such as adding the new v4.2.5 IPS features. My users love it, especially the ability to use the Mods function to document the build or restoration of a vehicle. Mike offers first rate support!

  38. File & Image manager integrated into the CKEditor, to allow the reuse of images and files straight from the server without uploading the same image time and time again (Save server space for us poor people). Also, fix CMS blocks placements. So we can place a block on an Article page without it also showing up on the category page etc. This makes CMS unworkable for us an Article website. Please, thank you

  39. Just a reminder that the Calendar needs some UPDATES. Calendar STREAM shouldn't display past events! If its half way thru the month, you have to scroll thru unnecessary expired events to see the latest. Calendar stream view, should have 4 horizontally in a row on a regular PC screen, (instead of the new look with one showing and its just more scrolling... thank you

I don't like current behaviour of highlighting because it works for every posts, does not matter if this post important or not (i.e. "official staff answer" or "staff member's comment on kittens photo"). I'd prefer to have an option below editor. Posted this also as suggestion in feedback and ideas section. Please support(reaction/comment - any activity) this topic if you need it too.

  45. It isn't possible as far as I know, but I'm also interested You could probably add a page in IP.pages for this, but I would like to see a solution in IP.Commerce, that allows mixing affiliate products into store categories and have identical product layouts.

  47. I'm afraid I can't speak as to whether this will be changed or not, but it's still something on our internal discussion tracker. Sometimes it's a little harder to get things that have no real-world impact (but help third party developers) to the top of the list as you can imagine.
