  1. In 3.4 you could put the pointer anywhere in the window, right click, paste, and it would appear where the cursor is. In 4.0 the paste option does not appear unless the arrow is on the same line as the cursor. This causes members to think something is wrong with paste. Especially when you have an empty editor, and the cursor is at the top. You click anywhere in the window but paste does not appear. Instructing members to line up the cursor and pointer is not practical, and is a never ending cycle. Can this be addressed? Thanks

  2. Marcher is correct, it all depends on what the browser determines as "editable." This may differ between the two versions and even between browsers, but is not specific to our software. The CKEditor demo also does it, if you clear it out completely.

  3. I did not check to see if the div version of CKEditor was affected - I was just commenting on why the current one does what it does.

Support for CJ Menu Manager will end when IPS 4.3 comes out. there is a new app, called Menu Groups Manager that will replace CJ Menu. when it becomes available on the market here, any CJ Menu clients will be able to request a free upgrade to it. if you wish to Upgrade now, the app is available on my site. https://codingjungle.com/files/file/46-menu-groups-manager/ just contact me here or there (if you contact me on my site, let me know who you are here) and i can generate you a invoice there. anyone who as purchased CJ Menu from my site, will be able to upgrade to Menu groups Manager on their own for free for a limited time as well. 10. Right now IPS includes a rather large amount of JS and CSS on every page, and a decent amount of it could be combined into a single file and minified, as a best practice. It would be nice to have this happen automatically, or for IPS to include an ACP option to enable it.

  11. I'm trying to test an upgrade from IPS3 to IPS4, and would like to change my URL from whatever.com/forum/ to beta.whatever.com in the process. I've tried changing the address in conf_global.php, both before and after running the upgrade, but both methods lead to the same bug – after the upgrade, all CSS, images and JS files will fail to load, and the frontend source code shows that it's trying to load these addresses from an address that's like "http://beta.whatever.com/http://whatever.com/forum/uploads/", which obviously fails. So in general terms, my question is, how can your change your community's URL in IPS4, and have all of the cache and stuff update correctly?

  15. You need to add -TESTINSTALL to the license key. Note that this is really only for testing purposes. That second installation cannot be public.

  16. With CKEditor Div version, this problem don't occur. You can test it here: http://ckeditor.com/demo#div

  17. I'm also pretty sure that moving to the div based editor (as you are) might actually overcome this - I'll pull down a copy to test.

  18. Oh dear lord. This has come up so many times it is not funny. It's caused by how a given browser handles contenteditable, not anything to do with CKE, not anything that CAN be fixed, and 3.4 did the same thing.

  19. Yes, that’s what the prefixes are for. So technically, that is no problem. You could install dozens of different apps in one MySQL database. It’s still good practice not to do it …

  20. Yes, collections are required. You can hide any tab from the menu in the ACP under System -> Site Features -> Applications. Click the "lock" icon to the right of the app and set "Show in Navigation" to false.

was great in 3.4.X but this version 4.X is wonderfull thanks for this hard work!!! buy it great apps and great support from the author.

  27. This post is about the gallery app, not any other part of the site. And the gallery lightbox lacks navigation arrows. And if a album in a gallery isn't a "group", what is? Additional suggestion: Clicking a gallery image on the view page should open it in the lightbox. This is standard, expected behavior. This should also be a stock feature!

    Automated support response

I'm really sorry for the frustration and completely agree with your assessment. That is actually not an automated response, which makes it even more frustrating to me. I'll be following up on this internally and improving our policy. Further, I agree with your suggestion on a checkbox. I can't promise there will not be any redundancy through the process as frankly, in spite of the big warnings, checkboxes, etc. we already have in place - 1 in 3 don't provide access information or appropriate details. We don't like our time being spent on gathering details that should have been provided with the original support request and likewise, I certainly wouldn't expect you to be happy waiting 24-48 hours only to get a reply suggesting that you do something you've already done. Thanks for bringing this to our attention - I'm on it.

  32. In the ACP go to Pages > Blocks.Click "Create New Block."Make sure Type = Plugin is selected. From the plugin dropdown select "Topic Feed", which is under Forum. Then click "Next".Under the details tab give it any name and template key that you want.In the Feed configuration tab give it whatever title you want. Change any other settings based on preference. The main one is "Number to Show."At the bottom of the page change drop for "Use this template as-is" to "Use as base for a custom template." That will open up the content window where you'll see the default template which isOn line 10 you'll see the following: {template="userPhoto" group="global" app="core" params="$topic->author(), 'tiny'"}Replace that with: {template="userPhoto" group="global" app="core" params="$topic->lastCommenter(), 'tiny'"}Then on line 28 you'll see the following: <span class='ipsType_light ipsType_small'>{lang="byline_nodate" htmlsprintf="$topic->author()->link()"} &middot; {lang="topic_started_date" htmlsprintf="\IPS\DateTime::ts( $topic->mapped('date') )->html()"}</span>Replace that with: <span class='ipsType_light ipsType_small'>{lang="byline_nodate" htmlsprintf="$topic->lastCommenter()->link()"} · {datetime="$topic->mapped('last_comment')"}</span>Hit save and you your site. Open up manage blocks and drag "Custom Blocks." which is under pages to the desired location. Click "Edit" and select whatever you named the block. It will be listed under Plugins. That should get the sidebar working with the info for the last commenter instead of the topic starter. Let me know if you have any questions or problems.

  33. @JEFF MACK, I'm not sure about the general practicality for users to have the ability to turn private messages from multiple members into a public affair at the click of a button. But a button to invite all PM participants to an existing collab... that sounds like a good idea.

  34. That's pretty cool. Like the other member said, while I can create this in Pages, I like the way you arranged things, including a popup for answers. I can use this for a help/FAQ section, since IPB 4 doesn't have it anymore. You can count on me as another customers.

    Traffic Generator

Fakes some users on your forum. Great for forums just starting up, your forum goes from a ghost town no one wants to bother with, to a place that people take the time to register. No performance hits and dead simple install. Works hand in hand with WhoWeAre app, to show a vibrant lively community that new people will want to be part of.

I got Adriano to make this file for me as i saw we had MANY guest views every day, but most would spend hours going through the records in our various databases but never register and contribute back to the record authors with likes, comments, reviews etc. So i wanted something specific like this that would allow guests to view through a configurable amount of articles per database to get them "hooked" then lock them out for 24 hours with a message saying they need to register then they can view an unlimited amount.. The result? It completely worked! Our daily registration rate sky rocketed up from about 1 - 5 per day to 25+ per day. This plugin worked perfectly for me, and install was a breeze with zero errors. Grade A+ plugin here folks, purchase it if you use IP Pages

  36. I think $45 is a very fair price, personally. PHP developer time is expensive, and demand for this add-on (at any price greater than free) is likely to be quite low. If your board's security isn't worth $45 to you, you probably don't need two-factor authentication in the first place.
