  2. When looking through the list of settings for a theme, I can't seem to find anyway of quickly seeing the setting key. Could this be a tooltip or something so we can grab the key without having to go to the actual add/edit settings page ?

  3. I'd like to suggest an option to make forum search results expandable per topic in 4.0. Currently when we do a search, all topics and responses are listed together and there are potentially dozens of post entries for each topic. Most times you can tell by the topic title if it's not what you're looking for, but still need to scroll through all the results for that topic. It would be ideal if responses were grouped by topic -- maybe with an arrow icon that allowed the user to expand results for that topic if it was a good match.

  4. "screenshots" is an IP.Downloads folder, where file screenshots are stored by default. It should be retained, in this instance. "retail" is an older IPB 3.0 or 2.3 folder which is no longer needed.

  5. Hello guys, I noticed that writing long posts of the editor remains at the top and frankly I find this uncomfortable, it would be much better than when writing a rather long post inside the text there was a scrollbar so the toolbar remains fixed and does not serve scroll up and down. Sorry for my english...google translate.

    IPS 4 Profile URL

No it wouldn't be the same. For example, that's my profile link: http://community.invisionpower.com/profile/536116-ahmad-el-oukly/ Let's assume I had another name before e.g. test, the link would be http://community.invisionpower.com/profile/536116-test/ As you can see both redirect to my correct profile (and it automatically corrects the name)

    System scheduler on IPS4?

They hide a lot of stuff like that intentionally to avoid inexperienced admins from doing stuff they shouldn't. For example, during beta I proposed a link between the area where you can enable furls in general and the area where you can edit how each single furl will look. They didn't want to add it since they didn't want admins in one of the areas to accidentally find the other area and start changing advanced settings at random I dont like this excessive hiding either.

    IPS 4 Profile URL

@opentype may want to change his name in the future. Then all the links to his profile would be broken if there was no id-parameter. Someone else may then "steal" his name and thus the links to his profile. Requesting items from a database based on numbers rather than a title text is also generally faster in terms of performance.

    IPS 4 Profile URL

In 4.0 you can edit the FURL setup if you want to and can handle the consequences. ;-)

  11. Hi there, Currently, when pasting a link from a gallery image, we have something like that: I think it would be much better to have the full size image, like when inserting an image URL in a post : … and below the image, the gallery details (the author, the number of comments…). Maybe something like that: What do you think? Thanks,

  13. You can also use following feature to add a Link: ACP => System => General Configuration => "Add a custom link to navigation bar"

    Login with username?

Ok so doesn't it make more sense to label it "username" as per IP Board 3.4 then? That's what users are used to.

    Minor skin issue

Link to view might be better but what you can try is in stylesheet (depends if using custom.css or not) Add or change the background for: .ipsBox:not(.ipsBox_transparent)

  16. I'm the same Bluto, I've started the downgrade on features from 3rd party apps, so that when it is released we can switch over to it pretty swiftly. I have started the styling of 4.0 already and everyone is eager to get switched over. We have pretty much down a ground up integration. Only really got the main news page to create but need to sort out 3 x 2 style template for it.

  17. Personally, this is just me, I wouldn't develop a theme for 3.4.7 - that is if it's a fully customized theme. If you're just doing a simple color change, then that theme would be pretty easy to do. I've stopped all development on 3.4.7. I've even started removing mods that I've added just to make the transition to 4.0 easier. IMHO, I don't see it taking too long for an RC version of 4.0. They're fixing most of the bugs as they come in and releasing betas just about every weekish. I've been on this forum at all hours of the day and there seems to be "shifts" of IPS people working on bug reports in the bug tracker. So, it appears to me that they want a final release as much as everyone else. Can you blame them? Right now they're supporting two different program cores. I'm sure they want to get as many people as possible on 4.0, when it's released, so they can deal with one program core vs. two. My best guess is sometime in Jan to see a production ready release. It's important to remember, there will always be bugs. Not a single piece of software is bug free... unless the software is super simple. So, even after the final release of 4.0 there are bound to be bugs that pop up here and there. IMO as long as the bugs aren't security related... I'm not too worried. They've been running 4.0 on this forum for awhile, so as you can see, the program is already pretty stable (from a security and usability position).

  21. So now to hide DOWNLOADS tab from guests I have to disable the app and give access in offline mode to everybody else ? That's not what I want and that's not the same thing. I want to do what I can do in 3.4: I want to hide a tab from any app without put the app offline, obviously!
