Translating language strings with the same key

I know it’s an old and known issue, but maybe it needs another bug report, as it is still happening with the latest 5.x release and the latest default language pack:

When the same phrase key is used across different apps, only one phrase can be translated. Translations for additional phrases with the same key aren’t saved. The original English remains and there is no way to address this other than going into the database itself. So, some phrases are untranslatable.

Both phrases were translated, but only one translation sticks.

    The Developer area should be updated to detect duplicate language strings.

    Useful for IPS and also for 3rd party developers. 🙃

    Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention! I can confirm this should be further reviewed and I have logged an internal bug report for our development team to investigate and address as necessary, in a future maintenance release.
