Since the upgrade, a few members have this happening:

Is this a known issue with a workaround?

Cheers!

They are able to post images but no text.

The fact you say a few members, leads me to believe this isnt everyone? If so, please could you find out what browser they are using, the version of that browser, and if there are any plugins running on the browser too?

Are there any errors logged in the System Logs or the Server Error log?

That's correct, it's only a few users it seems to be happening for.

It's an iPhone 8, Safari (not sure of version, have asked member to provide).

Nothing that stands out I'm afraid.

iphone 8 is unsupported phone without any updates and fixes https://endoflife.date/iphone so everyone can expect some problems🤔 do they receive at least safari updates? 🤔

I've received over ten reports about this issue—all from users on Apple devices (so far).

This is from another member:

As soon as I hit the Reply to This Thread button in any thread, I get the spinning circle of doom, which never resolves. I can add files or images to a post but can't type a response. However, I can use system emojis to react to posts. I also experience the same issue when trying to send personal messages—I can add a recipient and subject but can't enter anything into the text area.

I'm using Safari on an iPhone 12 Pro running iOS 16.3.1.

Another member reported using an iPhone 8 with iOS 16.1.1 and experiencing the same issue.

I don’t think the affected members are tech-savvy enough to open the console and check for JavaScript errors, but they are able to log in on other devices without issues.

I've asked them to clear their cache, but that did not resolve the problem.

There’s nothing in the system logs related to these users, and the error log is empty. I'm assuming that the TipTap editor is crashing on their devices.

I'll see if I can walk them through getting a look at the console logs.

iOS 16 is also unsupported system https://endoflife.date/ios, even without security fixes 🤔 but the user of iPhone 12 Pro could update it to supported version and check if it solves this issue

do they have at least safari updated? i dont know how the apps support works on apple devices if they use unsupported system 🤔

This has happened again to another half dozen users. All safari. No extensions running for most.

Is there a minimum supported browser version I can communicate to them?

It has indeed. I know there have been some work arounds added to the upcoming release though, which should resolve some of these

Any of my members that upgraded to the latest iOS version have reported that it fixed the issue.

One of them said it happened on Chrome on iOS, so maybe not just Safari related, I don't know.
