Menu item icons not displaying on full width

We have noticed that icons for menu items are displayed only on the mobile/tablet view and not when browsing from a computer in full width.

    I believe that's intentional. On the sidebar navigation, the root level menu items don't show an icon, because it would make it difficult to differentiate between a menu header and a menu item.

    I see, but I vote for that this the use of icons for root level menu items should be the same on the mobile and the computer. But this is only IMHO :)
