Hello, I was testing our website and tried to post some comments but it doesn't seem to be working correctly. When I try to place a comment it first says I haven't filled out all fields and then I try to submit it again it posts the comment I have previously written. It seems like this a javascript issue as the hidden field is not being filled correctly, hence the form is not submitting the correct comment.

In this video you can see the issue:

Please check mod_security on your server. I have seen this happen a lot when mod_security is blocking items in the editor

I have checked this, but on my server I don't have mod_security installed atm

There is a hidden field in the HTML which is not being updated correctly and so when you click on the send button it sends the previously entered message

Please could you check there is nothing else which may be blocking this. Cloudflare, securi, anything like that. Im more than happy to take a look, however its likely it will need to be escalated, and these almost always tend to be one of those items. So just trying to save you that loop

I don't really get what you mean by something else that's blocking this :). Could you explain it to me?

The only thing that I found out is that because the hidden field is not getting updated it's not submitting the correct comment.

No problem. I can get this escalated for you. The first thing you need to do before I can create a ticket however, would be to update your site to the latest release. Once you have done this, please let us know and we can get a ticket created for you.

Thank you Marc!
We also contacted our hosting provider to verify and we have confirmation that mod_security is not active on the server.
The site is updated to the version (5.0.9).
The issue was not there when we have tested the site on version 5.0.7 - We skipped 5.0.8 and went straight to 5.0.9.
The issue occurs on a test environment which is blocked bij a password. Let me know the ticket is created and i will provide the credentials to you if needed.

We are not able to assist with test sites unfortunately. Im unable to replicate this on any of my instances here, nor have I had any other reports, other than instances where the server is blocking interaction

Can you disable all third party apps/themes and see if the error will still happen or it will go away? If you have have cloudfare, disable it too. Disabling all third party apps will help in either ruling them out as causing the issue or identifying them as being the culprit.

Also, can you check the System Logs and the Server Error Log for any recent messages pertaining to this issue?
