The upgrade from 3.4 to 4.7 adds a RecountPollVotes background process in the ACP dashboard, but the extension is gone in v5 and the poll votes are not properly recounted when the task tries to run it, it's simply removed from the database without any specific error or warning.

The upgrade was done with the following steps:

  • 3.4.9 => 4.7.20

  • 4.7.20 => 5.0.3

Not sure if other queue extensions are possibly missing, too. 🤔

There's really nothing we can do about this one. The minimum version supported for an upgrade to v5 is 4.5.

We did remove many queue extensions that are no longer in use, so I'm sure there are other ones that you'll hit as well.

Ideally, you'd upgrade from v3 to v4, run any pending background tasks, and then run the upgrade to v5.

I wish I knew that beforehand. Next time I'll let the v4 tasks run before upgrading to v5. 😅

Also thought i could skip running background processes on 4.x as they showed up on 5.x. Had a ton of errors in the logs, even though the process looked like it was progressing and completing.

I had to run all of these on 4.x including rebuilding posts which took ~ 1 day even after changing the increment batch size.
