I've just made a post in our forums, and somehow one of the images I uploaded to the post got duplicated at the end of the post, and I'm not able to delete it. When I save the post after editing to remove the duplicate, it's back again! While I'm sure removing the image entirely and uploading it to the post again would probably fix the issue, it shouldn't require that kind of effort, and I'm wondering if this is a bug, or is there a simple solution?

Here's the post in question:

Large Scale Planes
No image preview

Any news on the expected ship date for the Kotare 109K?

Is there any news on the expected ship date? I'm on vacation for the next 2 weeks and really don't wont this package hanging around on my doorstep.

The image at the very bottom is a repeat of one further up the post.

When you say you deleted it, what do you mean? Removing it from the post content itself, will not remove the image from the post and instead add it back again at the end of the post. That’s normal and expected behaviour for “attachments“. You need to delete the images you don’t want anymore from the attachment area below the content.

The problem is that the image is in the post twice, and I'm just trying to remove the duplicate instance, while keeping the first one in the post. If I can't remove one of the instances without it being added back in, then that to me counts as a bug, not a feature.

Was it maybe uploaded twice too? Again, focus on the attachment area, not the post content.

The only reason why an attachment would be added at the end is that the software sees the image as not being used in the post, which is either true or there is something wrong with the embedded image so that it is not recognized as use of the attachment.

Try to make sure the image isn’t uploaded twice and if that is not the case, maybe clear all instances from the post content and then add it back once.

You were indeed correct! It wasn't so much that it was uploaded twice, but there were essentially two versions of the same image, both of which were uploaded, when only one was needed. They were similar images of the same thing, and hence looked like the same image at a glance.

Thanks for the help!
