Posted May 17May 17 We moved off a host and on to another about 4 months ago and wanted to re-install my clients software from a single html page but get this message. This is a new host and I've never installed IPB there. My Client just renewed the software this morning also. RegardsAn installation has already been activated for this license key.
May 17May 17 Author Doing it again and now I get the reported additional issuehttps://invisioncommunity.com/forums/topic/483035-ips-error-256/#comment-2999325Help in either topic appreciated
May 19May 19 Author Hello, New install, no 256 error however I still get the An installation has already been activated for this license key. Your license key entitles you to one installation only. If you need to change the URL associated with your license, contact IPS technical support.I have tried clearing my cache, using a different browser, I mean there's nothing more I can do. There is not a installation anywhere that should be being picked up, My client has not ran this software for a long time and has used nothing but a single static html page that has nothing to do with IPB. If there's a install somewhere please tell me where so I can look into this issue. Do we need to have the url cleared? Reset the url for some reason? In the client area again you can see I've been associated/have access with this client account for many many years here. His site starts with "he" in my client area.
May 19May 19 Author You can also check my other site for my url and see invision 5 is running perfect at that location and installed perfectly fine. Something else is going on with this version or with the url check imo.
May 19May 19 Community Expert As noted in your previous topic, you will need to ensure that you're installing with the correct license key and URL. Doing this myself, I am not having any issues getting past the license screen. That error will only present if you are installing at the license URL not on file.
May 19May 19 Author I am installing to the correct url, you can check the install and url and see that 100 percent. URL Matches... Edited May 19May 19 by DesignzShop
May 19May 19 Community Expert Just now, DesignzShop said:I am installing, you can check the install and url and see that 100 percentIf you are getting that error, you are either not installing at the exact URL on file or not using the correct license key. When using both that are correct at the license URL, it is working fine for me. If you want to add the license key and URL in the access details area of the Client Area notes that you're using, I can verify.
May 19May 19 Author It skipped that and installed this time. Not sure what is going on, I changed nothing. Some kind of issue but it's installed. Thanks
