That file does not exist in version 5 so you can delete it.

Thanks. Deleted it but did not solve the issue. Turned on error display and looks like the error is due to a "tournaments" plugin we previously used. Should we try deleting the application folder or?

Edit:

I deleted public_html/applications/tournaments/ and the upgrade proceeded without erroring.
