Has there been any progress with converting old physical products to normal ones?

I am not quite at the stage where upgrading from v4.7 to v5 is in motion, but it is something I am preparing for. I'm very excited about v5, and how the improvements will make my site feel a lot more fresh and modern.

The biggest obstacle for me right now is preserving my old physical products.

I don't need the shipping information etc, I handle everything manually, and I am curious if a conversation about the products has had any movement. Alternatively, before upgrading, could I just remove the fields which make an item "physical" in order to get round this? The physical URL are very important to me, as they have been indexed and are currently the sole means of attracting customers to my site.

Please could you let me know, and if removing the physical elements would work?

If anyone searches/ This goes live, you can toggle off the physical product option, and when you upgrade from 4.7 to 5x the products will be completely fine. However, if you use any of the shipping options and don't handle things manually, this probably won't be your best solution.

I tested the process, with a non-physical product and one which was in 4.7, but disabled prior to upgrading, and both were completely fine.

To confirm, yes that is correct. A physical item would be switched to a normal item
