As i wanted to do few changes to my site and i've talked with the app''s devs, everyone was saying that it's impossible without hooks, which v5 is missing. I don't know what are those hooks (looks like its easier to build flexible site and apps with hooks), so i need to know, is that something that will be added back or v5 will continue without them?

These aren't something that would be added back. It would be interesting to know what you are trying to achieve. Im not a developer myself, but I know when some things have been mentioned here previously, there have been different ways to achieve the same things

I see, one of the things that i wanted are to seperate prefix and tags as i was asked in previous post. I do remember prefix app back in v4 too. One of the app's devs told me it's impossible without hooks. I belive the things i want are all hooks related, but if they won't be added back, nothing i can do about my wishes. :)

I cant see any reason someone wouldnt be able to make a completely new prefix app, to be honest. Changing what we have, may be what they have issues with

The hooks made it much easier for programmers to work, so after removing them, the work for them would be difficult,

I advise you to look for an active developer who will be able to create the app you need.

The reason for removing the hooks is that they were used incorrectly in version 4, so they should have been removed, but any application can be created without them👌

I've asked 2 popular app's devs here, they told me it's not possible to do what i need. Looks like i will need to pass on that for that time.

Yes, i've asked Adriano and teraByte, they told me something IF new extension to manipulate the tags data is added, could be possible. I didn't ask onlyME, as he told me right now he is busy to take requests as i've asked him about other things.

What exactly is impossible? This should be quite easy with the current listeners and extensions.

To have seperated tags for Download/Article section. Not global tags, as i want my forum topics to have certain tags to chose from, as my Download submits, not big list of mix tags. That's one for example.

Easily reinventing the wheel and practically copying a lot of stuff from the core (to create a model and a controller) to simulate it. This IS reinventing the wheel. If someone is willing to do this, great. I don't.

To clarify to both, you can indeed do most things, but yes, there are some things that can't be done.
