Posted April 26Apr 26 Quick question, do the renewal fees become forced every month, or can this just expire and not renew? Just wanted some clarity on how this works in V5.
April 28Apr 28 Community Expert Im not sure I understand what you are asking. Its not possible in any walk of life to force someone to renew anything.
May 11May 11 Author I'm just wondering if the that will automatically just roll over next month charging my members again? Or does it just quietly close the door to future downloads of this file till payment again?
May 12May 12 Community Expert It would automatically renew if there is a payment method on file that payment can be taken from

Most of my members only want to purchase the download once. I support the files for 30 days after purchase. I want it as a one time purchase not renewing automagically.

May 15May 15 Author Is there any way to do a single-time purchase with NO subscription (renewal) of the files purchase?Basically, I make tune files for diesel trucks. My tune files can be downloaded many times while we build the tune to fit the clients truck. Now the subscription I want is only a one 30-day period,d and then detach from that purchase and close the download of that file after 30 days. If the client wishes to continue working on the tune, then yes, allow the client to make the next purchase for that file. Like myself right now I'm on the road and traveling, I don't want to be telling all the members," hey, you need to cancel the subscription of the file after 30 days". I don't need them also calling the bank and stopping payment when the system renews automatically. Somehow I need this to be one one-time purchase for 30-days and STOP. No renewals. May 15May 15 Author But I need the file to remain only open for 30 days. Then stop. So If I make 4 updates then they have access during those 30 days and then close the door after 30 days.

No renewals.Downloads don't work like that. You can probably add a product in Commerce, and then use the new option that will when submitting a file. You can stop renewals in the product:But I don't see how to list if for 30 days only.
May 15May 15 Author Well its a patch to the problem. Give me a bit to see if I can build this and test it out.
May 16May 16 Community Expert I would call that an “access pass“, like “30 day access pass“, “1 year access pass“. But as mentioned, that is not a supported concept in Invision Community. There is just “renewals“ or “forever“.
May 16May 16 Community Expert As mentioned above, we support 2 types of purchasable items within the software at present. These would be one time purchases, or renewable items. What you appear to be looking for is a 3rd type of item, so one that can be purchased, but expires with no chance of renewal. Unfortunately, thats not something available in the software at present.
