Hi!

Is there any way to create custom Secondary Badges from ACP for determined users or groups?

I saw here "MANAGERIAL" or Community expert. I'd like to set some users that kind of flags.

Cheers,

Ibai

Community Expert and "Manager" are different features of the software. Community expert is exclusive to version 5+ but the "Managers" callout is the "Highlight replies" functionality of groups in ACP -> Members -> Groups -> edit group -> Content tab.

Thanks for your reply!

So, if a user has a secondary group and that secondary group with highlighted content, should it highlight with that secondary group? I'm trying to keep everyone's primary group and set a secondary for highlighted content.

I tried this setup though it highlights the primary group (when the primary is not set as highlight :-) ). Am I doing anything wrong? Is this the supposed behavior?

Thanks!

Typically, secondary groups operate at an unknown level to users, so we typically do not display these. That would require customization to get it to appear as secondary.

Hmmm...

From my expefience setting up that way, i can see that the "highlighted" option in the secondary group does highlight the primary group. Then, this is a bug?

It would be great to highlight the secondary ☺️

Sorry, I am a little confused by what you mean. Did it highlight primary or secondary? I would expect the former there and not the latter.

Sorry Jim, let me explain :-)

  • I belong to MASTER group, which is not highlighted.

  • Then I set up a new group named VERIFIED which it is highlighted.

My primary group is MASTER and I set as secondary the VERIFIED group. When I see my posts, I see a highlighted badge saying MASTER.

I would expect to see VERIFIED or nothing in case that it only takes the setup from the primary. Am I right? Thanks!

Cheers,

Ibai

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention! I can confirm this should be further reviewed and I have logged an internal bug report for our development team to investigate and address as necessary, in a future maintenance release.

Right Marc, many thanks! Glad to help.

So what would be the expected behavior? Just the primary group setup?

Cheers,

Ibai

I would expect any group that has it selected would show up there, however in this case, a group you havent selected to show is showing

Yeah, I would expect that. If you have several groups highlighted, should be shown there.

Many thanks Marc!

Just a little curious, where is the Community Expert feature located in the ACP? Or is just for cloud hosted customers?

Community Experts are Team and higher only.

Just to confirm, does that mean that feature is locked behind being cloud hosted only?

It is not Cloud only, it is Team and higher only.

Classic will not be receiving the feature at this time.

The answer was to express that it isn't Cloud vs Classic (self-hosted), it is a feature decision to place it in certain package tiers (some packages of Cloud are not receiving it either 😉).

Oh, gotcha. That’s kool! 👍
