Good morning,

I wanted to know what are the steps I need to follow to create a bundle that includes access to all the courses I have.

Do I need to create a product and also associate ALL the courses I want to that product?

If a user buys the product, will he have access to every course associated to that product?

Imagine I have 5 courses. I edit each of them and associate to the Bundle Course product. Is that the way to do it?

Will the user have access to all the courses associated with the product once the user buys the product?

Thanks a lot

Yes, you have the correct idea there. You would indeed need to change the courses and set them so they should be associated with a product

Well, it doesn't work as I expect.

I don't know what I'm missing, but I believe there is a flaw in the process

Let me explain.

I've got several courses. I want to sell them individually, but also I want have the possibility to sell them as.

I connected all the individual courses to the bundle product. So fo, so good.

But the problem is that each of the individual courses is sold separately..so course 1 will be connected to product 1 and Bundle. Course 2 will be connected to product 2 and Bundle.

This doesn't work because now rhe price of Course 1 and Course 2 change and do not display the prices for the individual Products 1 or 2.

There is a limitation. If a course belongs to two products with different prices, the system will choose one of the prices.

The fact that the courses do not use the user groups as everything in Invision, is something they escapes my imagination. This could be done so easily if the courses module had been integrated in the user group system. :(

The only way to sell a bundle and an individual course with different prices is by duplicating the course and that doesn't make any sense.

  • Product 1 =$100

  • Product 2 = $200

  • Course 1 = $100

  • Course 2 = $200

  • Bundle with Courses 1 and 2 = $150

If I associate Course 1 to Product 1 and Bundle, the system will not display the right price. It will get confused.

Why? Because the course is connected to the product and doesn't have its own price, it takes the price from the product. So when of course is connected to two different products, the system will not know which price you want.

Assessed, there is a flaw in this process, and this flaw could be easily solved with user groups.

Maybe I'm using something, but I tried to do or explained and the prices did not much because of these flaw in the logic.

Once a course is connected to a product, he will inherit that products price. However, if I want to sell a bundle of different courses with a bundle price, I must connect several courses with the bundle price. But individually, those courses are connected to own products with different prices.

So it is impossible for the system to do what could be easily done with user groups and what I have been doing with the products model for a long time.

One of the reasons I moved to the cloud was to use the course model. To my surprise, I can't do what I can do with the products because of this limitation. The course model is sort of rudimentary, also because it's been built completely disconnected from the core user group functionality.

With the user group functionality, I would have assigned each course to a user group, including the bundle, and I would have granted privileges to each individual secondary group to view one or more courses. As simple as that.

However, with the association functionality you have come out with, you cannot do that. Unless I am doing something completely wrong, but I just followed the logic I explained and doesn't work for the reasons stated.

Thanks

I believe you are overthinking things there. Essentially, what you have there is a bug. It not showing the prices correctly. I have put a bug report in for that

Thanks a lot for letting me know.

My question is, will this bug fixed for version 4.7? Is version 4.7 kept and supported or these fixes will only be available for version 5.

I won't move to version 5 for some time because I first need to have a few applications converted and I want a very stable version 5 too.

I wonder if version 4.7 will have updates and fixed too, and if so, for how long.

Thanks a lot.

That has yet to be determined. We are still fixing bugs on version 4 but they will be evaluated for impact and decided from there what version it will be in.

I'm sure that man will be in a position similar to mine where

1) they won't move to version 5 until there's a lrr advanced version which is more stable

2) or have many plugins or custom applications that need to be converted to version 5 and it takes time.

Delivering fixes for 4.7 would be a good idea for some time. Right now, I can't work properly with bundles in courses because there is this bug with price. So if this bug is only fixed for version 5, it will take me a long time until I can use the Bundle option in courses.

Thanks
