We used a great Newsletter plugin for v4, that extracted lists of latest forums topics, blog posts etc. It was possible to have this go out automatically at specified intervals (like every week)

Anyone knowing about a similar plugin for v5?

I believe you might be referring to @HeadStand's app. I utilized it also. I don't know if she is planning on updating it for v5 or not. Also not sure she uses that account anymore as I think she is using another one these days.

though am currently awaiting a reply from her via pm regarding current status

I would like something like this but more of an interface/feed into a service like Constant Contact or SendGrid.
