Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted February 25Feb 25 Upgrade seemed to go well and I have no issues reported in support tab. Default theme is the only theme, no ads, etc. I wanted to start tinkering with the front page forum layouts, menu location, colors, etc, but if I click Open Theme Editor it loops with a "you don't have permission for that." I can view and navigate the forums once I end heme editor session.
February 25Feb 25 Are you clicking the Theme Editor button from the ACP? If so, are you logged in to the front-end with the same user?

Site is offline but my user is admin with permission to access offline.Just in case it's relevant, this account had to downgrade to Creator from a legacy account that used databases. The default app is set to Forums so I don't think a residual permission issue is the culprit, but thought I'd mention it just in case :)
February 25Feb 25 Unfortunately, I am not having any issues myself initiating and using Theme Editors from the front-end or from the ACP. You may wish to try to log out, clear cache/cookies and then log in again. If that does not work, could you please let us know the OS and browser you're using?
February 25Feb 25 Author Hmph. Mac 15.3.1 and same result on Arc 1.83.0, Firefox 135.0.1, and Safari 18.3.Beginning to feel like a local DNS or network caching problem of some sort. I'll reboot my house and see if that helps.
February 25Feb 25 Author Well pooh. No difference.I use my real name account as admin on site. I tried logging in using a seldom used 'admin' account and lo and behold, that one offers a theme editor in the profile dropdown. My own account only offers a Page editor. At least I now have a way forward!Eventually hope I can track down which permission, where, is stopping my normal administrator group account from accessing it.
February 26Feb 26 Author Solution OK, mystery solved. I found myself listed under Moderators (restricted). Toggled that to unrestricted and all is well.
