Posted February 12Feb 12 5.0.1 - Vertical Images loaded with iOS are always loaded upside down, irrespective of direction of photo taken with phone (tested with my personal phone). We are self hosted on cPanel/WHM so I am having to install the ImageMagick extension so I can see if it behaves differetly than GD I guess?
February 12Feb 12 You need to ensure that EXIF extentions for PHP are loaded, as this would result in the above

Is any kind of restart required to pick up new PHP extensions that are installed?

This comes up a lot and it is always an issue with EXIF on the server.

This comes up a lot and it is always an issue with EXIF on the server. Here’s the response from the trouble ticket.Checked the info.php page as well as CLI.There were a couple small modifications from default on the theme. I created a brand new theme, loaded that, problem still occurs.I have a paid Illuminate theme that we ran successfully on v4. That theme flips upside down as well. Sorry, I’m not trying to start a finger pointing battle, just going through all the steps to sort out the issue. :/Thanks.
February 13Feb 13 Please could you get hold of the original images and try uploading them in the test area on our site here?

February 19Feb 19 This forum is setup as a test area: https://invisioncommunity.com/forums/forum/15-test-posting/Also, upload the file as a compressed (ZIP) file, otherwise, the upload process will strip the EXIF data IPS needs to check if you upload it as an image directly.

Not sure how this issue is going to get fixed. 7 hours ago, teraßyte said:This forum is setup as a test area: https://invisioncommunity.com/forums/forum/15-test-posting/Also, upload the file as a compressed (ZIP) file, otherwise, the upload process will strip the EXIF data IPS needs to check if you upload it as an image directly. Also is there any way to see what EXIF or IPS is seeing for picture data? Any kind of log??
February 20Feb 20 There isnt really, but if they are posting here correctly and not on your own site, the only difference there can be is the server in which its run on, and therefore the EXIF php extension
February 20Feb 20 Author The issue seems to be gone when we roll back to PHP 8.1 8.2 has the image flip bug...We do now have the Update Recommendation under PHP though. We don't have 8.3 or 8.4 installed yet, but that could easily done. Should we test with either of those yet?
