Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted February 11Feb 11 I have a few questions regarding Legacy Plans and v5.Within the Client Area, specifically Manage Purchases > Overview, There is this:Change my legacy plan to a current Cloud planAs part of our ongoing commitment to providing the best possible service, we want to let you know that your current cloud plan is part of our legacy offerings, which are being discontinued on October 1, 2025. To ensure you continue to receive the most innovative features and robust support, we kindly ask that you select a new plan by that date.- Required for Invision Community 5.Question 1 here is, Is it just Legacy Plans that are being discontinued on October 1, 2025 or is that to include v4? And if it is just Legacy Plans, support for v4 will continue past that date, through to the previously stated "at least this year"?Question 2 revolves around an existing plan and the Upgrade.Currently, we are on the grandfathered Super 65. Of which, I believe, the included features are somewhere between Creator and Creator Pro. Super 65 has the following features:ForumsBlogsGalleryDownloadsCommercePagesTo retain those features, which plan is required? We are in an information gathering phase and just trying to understand the options, thanks. Otherwise, Creator would work if you don't use Pages Databases.

Not saying we won't but I'm not sure I can justify close to a 4x increase in costs to retain this. I guess the question then becomes, say I want to eschew the databases aspect of pages, can I get the database's database from you so if at some future point we want to reinstall that data, we would then be able to?

Therefore, if you decide you want to use Pages Database in the future, a restore likely won't be needed.

The conversation is much appreciated.I'm sure I may have one or two questions going forward as the options are discussed here. In the meantime, I'm probably going to get a trial of v5, and explore it a bit to possibly help for a more reasonable informed decision on that aspect. Regardless of that aspect though, Legacy is going away on Oct 1st, we will consider all available options, in that regard as well.Really love the software, it's pre-eminent in most everyway.
