Hello. I will appreciate if someone can help with this.

Members are reporting often getting error messages when clicking links. Here is one example of the error when requesting a valid url

I've had a member report this issue today.

They are using a MacBook - safari 16.5.

No extensions running in the browser.

I have asked them to update their OS and browser and to report back.

You’ve read my mind. I’ve just had another say no issues and he is a subscriber so won’t see adverts.

I’ve fired off an email to the ad provider to investigate any possible issue their end that could be causing this.

Will update when I hear back. It’s an American company so will be a delay with time zone.

@Marc attached is the response

Would recommend disabling all customizations for these individuals and have them test again. If it works, add them in one-by-one to see what is happening.

Personally for my site the only customisation I have is a hook for the ad company which has been running right through 4 into 5 with no issues.

I upgraded from 5.0.2 to 5.0.3 last Thursday and the problems started from the Friday.

While I understand that, we need to rule out coincidence. Removing this for the user to test should be straight forward and help us determine next steps.

Ok, I have created a new default theme and asked the members to select that and report back to see if the same errors occur. I will get back to you once they have tried.

Did this include no ads? As when I view the ads on your site, I am receiving a bunch of console errors. The console also grows exponentially on some page loads. Some browsers straight do not like that and will freeze up, creating the error they're stating.

The fact that this is not consistent for the user makes me think that something else is at play here. As the software, nor the content on that page should have changed in that time period.

This is just a sampling of what I see in the console log.

Since this is happening to multiple people on multiple website, I doubt very much that any specific customization has anything to do with this. My website has no customization other than my custom template, my members never get any ads so ads can't be the issue here.

While we certainly understand there is an issue, we can't seem to replicate it so we are trying to have clients take their communities down to our bare bone software to see if it is related to those customizations or not. All part of troubleshooting. Once we have some commonality of the core software involved, we can now try and expand further. As this topic was tagged to our developers team, they will be around when they can to provide some next steps of troubleshooting.
