Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted January 28Jan 28 Many times there are instances where you don't want to publicly send a response to a member such as that of a Stock Reply, of which would be a post. Instead you would prefer the privacy of a stock reply to go out via an Alert. The nice thing about the Stock Reply aspect, is that it affords the website the ability to be uniform and consistent in it's messaging. It would be really great and go a long ways towards this end if Stock Replies were able to be utilized within the Alert system.Currently, you can do and end run and simply change the user each and every time you want to send one but this is problematic when you try to explain to your moderators that they need to go in and edit the existing alert to reflect the member it is being sent to, and not the last member it was sent to. It would be much easier for them if they simply understood that they had to enter the members name to whom the Stock Alert is going to.If this is considered, at all, perhaps a delineation of sorts between regular alerts and Stock Alerts would be in order, so moderators would have an easy to understand interface. Not sure how one would go about that but to be somewhat uniform in the UI, something along the lines of how the Stock Replies are delineated would be nice.I hope the above is slightly clearer than mud and easily understood. Thank you for your consideration.
