On mobile can the board index and forum topic list look like on ips4?

I don’t like it, it’s messy. It’s much better cleaner with less information, just a member photo icon and time especially on the board index is a better look

There are different views available in version 5, just like in 4. This is just one. You can configure your community to use another if you choose.

By the way: can we maybe increase the font size a bit (here)? I think it got even smaller compared to the 4.x default, which I also find too small. I’m in the reading glasses age now.

For those looking at making a change to your page layout, click your username (assuming you’re an administrator in your community) → Theme Editor → Page Layouts → Forum Index → select your preferred theme between Table, Grid, Fluid and Feed.

Feed is the theme currently selected for Invision Community.

Table is what most people may be used to.

Great Stuff!

Looking forward to it.

Loving it guys well done will be upgrading my community tomorrow.

Looking good so far. :)

Love so far…. Any update on when it’s available for us?

I’m a cloud user so haven’t beta tested.

Can Cloud users use the beta? Or are they installed by the IPB team? Just wondering as I may move to the cloud soon or for my company forums.

It looks good, but it would look even better without those large borders on the side.

We can’t really allow the content to stretch so there's little choice. Not many have full screen width browser windows open these days.

But the .i-wrapper { max-width: 1800px } could be removed so the background colors stretch without the content.

What would happen if you set max-width to 100% for .i-wrapper in your custom CSS?

I don’t know much about CSS but it might work.

Reading, long distance. Pretty sure I’ll need a stick by 50

You got your wish but its far too big now

It’s not. It’s a normal reading size (or slightly below) and a pretty good compromise. And the larger size is limited to the main text, which is also a good way to do it.

I could still quibble about the line length, but I save it. ;-)

I'm looking forward to the upgrade.

How long more can we run on V4 on cloud before we have to upgrade.

I'm hoping to wait until the summer, end of June 25, is this feasible?

There is no time table at this time. I would assume once version 5 has matured and version 4 is in EOL.

EOL?

Thanks, any estimation when 4 EOL will be?

https://invisioncommunity.com/deprecation-tracker/invision-community-4-r9/

Deprecation has already begun. There will be further announcements once we have entered the different tiers of EOL (no new features > only security updates > no support). Then there will be an announcement for migration to version 5 for Cloud clients at some point in that mix or after. It just really depends. We will give as much advanced warning as possible.

When checking server requirements for v5 I get the information that some of my database tables are not using InnoDB.

When checking my database tables for my Community I can see that it consists of 199 tables. Might there be some forum tables that were used by old versions of "IP-Board" that are no longer needed, so I might be able to skip them when switching to InnoDB?
