Beta 9 is here, and there's a little addition to the editor!

Along with the usual weekly round up of bug fixes, we've added a basic implementation of tables in the editor. We're testing this out to see how it goes before we build on it, but you should be able to add rows and columns and do all the usual table-y things.

Let us know what you think!

  • We've mostly been eating mince pies. Through bitter experience, we know better than to make software releases around the holidays. More than one of us has spent Christmas Day fixing a crisi

  • We're pretty close to being ready for the final release. We just have a few things we need to do internally first but we're close.

  • I'm sure you can agree there is definitely confidence in v5 from the team; bugs are being fixed, and the software is receiving regular beta updates and patches. New bugs will always find a way to poke

I would certainly think so 🙂

Soo. Tomorrow or thursday? 🤪

Guys, are you serious? It's better to wait longer for a stable product than to get it now in a buggy form. Look how many bugs were reported in a week.

I rather see 10 or more betas than upgrade my forums with a very buggy product.

Exactly. @Matt is currently on a coffee detox so his productivity has dropped a bit, but expect more betas in the coming weeks.

I appreciate their work and I prefer to wait a month until a stable beta is released

Thank you. That's exactly what I mean.

Please take into account that we have just welcomed the new year and before that we had Christmas. During this period, the IPS team always takes a day off to spend this time with family and loved ones.

Understand that money is not the most important thing in life, Invison Community is just a business, there are important and more important things. Personally, I would rather wait a few months for a polished product than receive it now and install a patch or security patch every few days.

Whatever IPS decides, I appeal to you to respect their decision.

I'm sure you can agree there is definitely confidence in v5 from the team; bugs are being fixed, and the software is receiving regular beta updates and patches. New bugs will always find a way to poke their heads out even if a product is as perfect as it is.

We only see a very small snippet of all the time and work involved in releasing new beta versions and fixing bugs, not to mention the time involved actioning fixes and making sure it doesn't break something else. This is a major release and as such requires a lot more time and care before jumping the gun.

Guys, as Gary (former employee) wrote, IC5 introduces many new improvements, from back-end to front-end, it is worth waiting a little longer for the stable version, believe me, I have been operating with IC since 2013 and none of the versions made such an impression on me as IC5.
