Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt November 11, 2024
Como Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 Several times today, a 'Hello' message popup in small popup box was repeatedly displayed the top of the window. I think it was associated with testing a chatroom plugin, but I cannot be certain since others did not report similar, and the popup appeared way outside of the chatroom interface. I've looked up the language string in AdminCP, and found: __api_core_hello => Hello Might this be the cause? And if so, any ideas as to why it is being triggered?
Solution Jim M Posted December 19, 2024 Solution Posted December 19, 2024 Without seeing a screenshot or having more to go on, I can't say what is related to this. If you did add something new to your community today and you're only experiencing this today, I would tend to believe that is the culprit. The only way to check is to uninstall it and see if you see it again. However, I can say that the API "Hello" message should not be appearing anywhere outside of an API call so I do not believe that to be it.

Hi @Jim M The chat room is not new - we've been testing and bug-fixing for ages. But I was testing a feature not used before. But the popup would not make much sense if that feature was the trigger. Anyway, thanks for ruling out the API call. I'll contact the chat room developers. Edited December 20, 2024 by Como
