How to modify default template value in theme?

Hi, in V4, it was easy to change template, but in V5, one needs to create a HOOK. In this case, how to change the default value? For example, in mobile footer, I want to change "Unread" to "Home", change URL etc.

Can someone share a sample code?

You would need to hide what is there that you dont want to see, and add a new link with a theme hook. You cant amend templates any longer
