Will there be official translation packs for IC 5? And will these be available with the launch? Important for me is German.

There will not be any official translations with the launch of version 5, no. Whether there will be any in the future, Im unsure. At present we are concentrating on getting version 5 out

I've started working on a full IC5 German translation a while ago and hope to have it ready for the final IC5 release. I've also offered few people access so that they can help me, so if you're interested, I'll get you access!

Can one translate v5 starting from a v4 translation as a basis?

Yes, but many strings changed and also several strings were removed, so you may translate them unnecessary!

Cool, I wouldn't be affected by removed strings, I have reached a good translation point where I only translate strings I actually find missing in practice.

 

Regarding changed strings, is there a chance a key name is kept but its content/meaning changes? That would be the only problem I see.

during those 5 months of waiting you could translate everything by yourself 🤭 just use some old language pack and add missing things 😮 and start selling it 🤑
i have 408 pages out of 606 and i think i have everything i need covered this way 🤔

I mean, I may not be in a hurry, but if someone from the team writes that they're working on one, then it's ok to ask, right? :)

Killing the marketplace also killed most of the translations, would be nice to have official translations for some languages.
