Shadower
hello paypal seems to only be authorizing payments on invision community instead of capturing the payment and i dont see anywhere to change this example of invision only authorizing payments where i have to capture myself manually this is captured payments automatically where i dont have to manually accept each payment please look into this and solve it the processor should be capturing payments not just authorizing
Marc
Im not sure what you mean here by not capturing but authorising. Do you mean they are not showing in your admin CP? Do you have some example invoices that have been paid via paypal, that havent shown as paid?
Shadower
paypal has 2 different modes authorization which allows for a charge to be held but you need to manually capture it on the paypal dashboard. aswell as a capture mode which authorizes the payment but also captures it. authorization makes the charge on invision come out as payed aswell but i need to after accept all the payments on my paypal dashboard for a better explanation https://developer.paypal.com/api/nvp-soap/paypal-payments-standard/integration-guide/authcapture/
Marc
You would then need to contact paypal on this one. We dont ask paypal to force you to accept payments on their side in any way
Shadower
i mean this is only a issue with the invision paypal payment method. ive used plugins on other platforms which work fine on my account so its definitely not a PayPal issue Edited September 25 by Shadower
Stuart Silvester
Hi, I would recommend checking that the PayPal Webhook is set up correctly and can communicate with your community. If this communication is not working, Commerce will never send a capture request. Marc

Shadower
no im referring my wordpress website which was fine with capturing charges with this webhook and api key. however now that i have switched to invision it does not seem to want to capture and just authorize Edited September 25 by Shadower

Its likely they are working in a different manner. Please bear in mind, we have thousands of customers all using the very same. The only reason this would happen if paypal is not sending a request to the webhook in our platform.
Shadower
the webhook situation is working fine payments process fine and automatic ive never said there are any issues with that. the only issue im facing is that its authorizing payments instead of capturing so if you could look into that

If its asking to authorise payments and not 'capturing' then its not sending to our webhooks.
Shadower
authorization and capture are 2 different things? you can have paypal just authorize payments (without capturing) aswell it depends on the integration that is made? Marc
Please check cloudflare to ensure that isnt blocking anything too, as it may well be its blocking the requests.

Marc
Could you please get more information from them on what issue they are seeing. If they are saying there is an issue with ours, there must be something that is leading them to believe this. As I mention, we have thousands of people using this
