I am getting multiple undelivered messages from my host from this message being sent out

How and where is this sent out from? Is somebody trying to post something without being a member? If so how do I stop that?

Yes, this sounds like the Post Before Registering feature.

It was enabled and I have now disabled it

I just applied the 4.7.17 update and now the area to disable the post before joining setting is no longer in the same place?

So where is it now?

 

Same place - but it's hidden if registration is disabled on the site, so have you disabled registrations?

I think I am getting too old to run a forum anymore, yes I was on my test site where of course I have registrations disabled!

Nah. All have days where you're like "wait, where was that? what is going on?" I've been working here close to a decade and still have questions like this some days 😄 .
