I'm getting the following repeated log entries, not sure what they mean? 

Could contain: Page, Text

They mean that you need to apply the patch that is available in the support section of the ACP.

Is there a way to know when a patch of update is available, other than going to the "Get Support" section of my ACP

Upgrade - yes.

Could contain: File, Page, Text, Webpage

Patch - as I've never gotten a notification of one despite having that set to notify me, nope.
