Folks!

I need a BIG favour could anyone diagnose this issue, after upgrading the reply box was gone and format is strange...literally no one can post

Hey folks just wanted to circle back on this as im still getting a ton of system errors:

A cache clear will help in fairness but its a short term fix and the same issues keep coming back...

Could anyone tell me what to action (or more to the point as someone to action...!)

As an example, right now, on mobile it wont let me open the hamburger (to view profile etc) all it does when I click it is refresh the page. Which as you can imagine is driving my forum member nuts

Hey @teraßyte thanks fotr your message; it could be that the theme is too old in fairness...

I havent tried to switch to the default theme...that could fix it..how do I switch to that to test?

Just make sure to give it a name like "New Default" or something so you know which one you're actually selecting!  Also make sure once it's good that you remove the old bad "IPS Defaults" and set the new one as the theme for all members.  🙂

If it does work, you can make that theme the default for everyone by choosing that option in the theme settings!  🙂

I think it is the theme as every single 'box' on the forum (even in ACP) does look or scale properly, will report back though

..although just to clarify as it drives everyone mad, I can clear the cache but just need to tell you the time at which the problems were occurring? Or you want to see the errors 'live' yourself ie no cache?

If your online, its doing it right now. 

 

On mobile if you click the hamburger icon it just refreshes the page and on desktop if your click the profile pic to drop the menu this too just refreshes the page too

 

Ill hold off doing the cache for 5 or so mins in the hope that you can get in and take a look...

Hey Jim thanks for taking a look. Sorry I dont know the FTP access or how to update it im non technical apologies. Are we bust then, without this you are unable to diagnose the issue?

@Jim M Sure thing will do Jim, ill drop them an email right now. Where can I see the FTP access details on file so I can query them with hosting and update when I have the new details? Many thanks!!

Thanks @Marc Stridgen amending these now. Do you connect via FTP or SFTP...or have I asked a noob question and they are one and the same thing?

Thanks Marc. When I update the password its 12 digits long, but after saving and re checking it shows 8 'dots' ie inferring the password is 8 digits long. Is this standard or for security or..?

If thats just the way it shows up and we are all good then fine, you should be all good to get in now...🙏

Can I consider turning on “Development Mode” to bypass caching while preserving protection in cloudflare Marc or shall I just pause it in its entirety?

Furthering that its already doing the same issue by reloading the page instead of opening the profile when clicking on the hamburger. If you online and can take a look (before I cache again I guess?) that would be ace...

All the details are correct they have suggested I will need to whitelist your IP?

Or infact to skip that, using FTP enforcer ive disabled it temporarily. Could I ask you one more time to try again...so so sorry about this 😞

..and great timing too - same error occurring! And I cache the system about 10 mins ago too which is worrying
