On my Mac, I get a notification that I received a new message:

Could contain: Text, Electronics, Mobile Phone, Phone

After I click that notification, I'm taken to the Inbox but no message is selected, so I see this:

Could contain: File, Webpage, Person, Face, Head

So at first I'm a bit confused as it looks like the message I was just notified about isn't there? Then I realize that I have to click the highlighted discussion in the column on the left, and then I also have to scroll all the way to the bottom of that discussion to read the last message.

Shouldn't the message that corresponds to the alert (there's actually only 1 new message) be selected and visible after I click the notification?

Please could you let me know who you are logged in as, so I can take a look?

I'm logged in as the (only) admin.

Did you get a chance to have a look? This is still happening on a regular basis.

Sorry, David. It seems your last message there was missed, so it hadnt been picked back up on. I will take a look at this today for you. In the meantime, please let me know if you have any browser plugins running there

I have:

  • 1Password – Password Manager 2.12.0
  • Google Docs Offline 1.62.0

Im not able to replicate this at all on my end unfortunately. Please disable both of those items, clear your browser cache, and then test this again. Things seem to be working with no issue on my end

This issue seems to be tied to the banner that says I have 25 new messages (even though I really have only one new message).

Do you perhaps have multiple pages of PMs there and potentially have something buried?

Good question. I have many pages of PMs. I just marked all read, I'll see if that resolves this issue.

Please let us know 🙂

I am still getting this issue.

Ok I couldn't find any burried unread PMs. Even if I did though, shouldn't clicking the notification take me to the last unread message, rather than displaying "No message selected"?

Whats  your username on your site?

I've sent you my username by private message. Thanks!

I have created a ticket on this for you, so we can take a closer look at what is going on

So this issue was never resolved, and now I noticed that I'm getting the same behavior on this site. I can share a screenshot if that helps (would rather not make it public though).

Clicking the "Read full message" button in the email notification works as expected.

You would need to respond to the ticket you had open on this.
