What could be causing this? Is it a bug?

Where are you seeing this? At a glance it looks like a badly programmed scraper of some sort, or someone trying to scan your site for generic security vulnerabilities.

If it's all coming from one address, I'd just block it.

An incorrect API key is causing that issue, as mentioned in the message. As mentioned, we would need to know where you are seeing this to be of more assistance

Indexnow showing in acp system logs

The IndexNow integration in ACP has no setting to enter an API key. 🙄

Is it possible that IPS supplies the API key for us?

Yes, it does - it randomly generates one specifically for each site. If you have the above repeatedly appearing, simply disable/re-enable the IndexNow integration to generate a new key.

It worked for awhile but the errors started again. Now there are 9 pages of errors again.

I wonder if I am hitting some kind of daily limit because my site has a lot of activity?
