Posted February 1, 20232 yr Admin Members/Groups/Content/Delete/Can Delete Own Content "On", But... How does a user delete a topic or comment? I cant seem to find it in User Interface anywhere. forums.aaca.org
February 1, 20232 yr Community Expert Solution You would need to enable that same permission for the member group you want to allow. They then would be able to delete their content in the same way a moderator would but for only their own. For example, to delete their own topic they would go to the topic -> click Moderator actions -> Delete. To delete a post, they would go to their post -> click the three dots in the top right of their post -> Delete.
February 2, 20232 yr Author Not working. What am I doing wrong? ie, group "members" users have no "delete", even with it correctly set.
February 2, 20232 yr Community Expert You have it setup correctly and it is working. I logged in as a user in your member group and it appears for them. In the screenshot below, I logged in as the user "M" and then clicked the three dots and can then click delete (I didn't here):
February 3, 20232 yr Author strange... ok. not sure why this user is having trouble. I'll figure it out
February 3, 20232 yr Author see screen dumps.... group "members" are set correctly user is a member of group "members" Still no delete available to them.
February 3, 20232 yr Community Expert Your issue is that it's the first post. First posts never have the delete option. To delete them, you need to delete the topic itself. Your user can find the Delete (topic) option in the Moderation Actions menu above instead.
