I have just tried to do an update on my website but it's failed. Can't remember the exact error but I uninstalled cleantalk (I originally tried to install cleantalk but that failed too) and not it comes up with this error when trying to update.

/home/myfootb1/public_html/system/Patterns/ActiveRecord.php::142

If I try to disable third party apps I get this error.

2S119/1 The CSRF protection key did not match. This may indicate a plugin or theme is out of date. Please contact technical support for more information.

My admin drop down menus are not working properly and my site is stuck on the updating screen.

Thanks in advance.

Michael

You would need to revert to your backup in the first instance and remove that item. You will not be able to remove it at present as you have an update in progress

My host restored my website backup but I get an error 500 on the.main forum page and this error when I try to access my admin area

We're sorry, but a temporary technical error has occurred which means we cannot display this site right now.

Table 'myfootb1_invision.core_theme_settings_fields' doesn't exist

You can try again by clicking the button below, or try again later.

What would cause this, could it.be that they didn't restore the old.databse?

Correct. It’s saying a table is missing. It sounds like they did not fully restore the DB.

You are indeed missing a table there.

This is weird, the database only goes to myfootb1_invision.core_files. that's the last row.

The hosts are looking into it. I've tried to restore my sites full backup including files and databases from 5th and the 4thnof.jan but I get the same error. It's not looking good.

Ouch...  it sounds like they're not generating full backups then.  😞

Did you have a backup of what the one that went wrong, or have you restored over that?

The whole website gets backed up nightly. So I've been trying to restore the whole site backups but everyone doesn't seem to work. I'm talking to my hosts now. I'll let you know what they say.

I can see the 500 error is still there, this is the exception appearing in the logs:

They've replied with this. He's restored the database manually and there are 76 tables. He's asking if there should be more but I'm not sure.

He also said this was an error popping up.

This is the last database table of the 75 in the database.

Could contain: Page, Text, File

Could contain: Page, Text

Yes, you are certainly missing a lot of tables there

Hmm that's really bad news. Hopefully the hosts can see what's gone wrong.

This is the reply I have received from my hosting company.

Unfortunately the oldest backup we have is the same. It looks like it stops at corefilesstorage table. Looking at the logs it's not able to dump the 'core_files' table which is killing the backup process, is this particular table large in either size or number of rows?

Nope. It’s nothing compared to the table that stores forum posts or achievement details.

Host said it was the backing up where it was failing. It looks like I'll be staring the forum again, damn!!!!

I would consider a new host in this case.

Would agree with @Adriano Faria, might be time to evaluate new providers (if you want to evaluate our Cloud, please let us know and we can get you in touch with our sales team). Also, not to rub salt in fresh wounds but testing backup strategies (even those run by your hosting provider) are always a good idea (we do that quite regularly).

Thanks Jim, yeah I should have tested them but I've actually never thought about testing them. I've had the site for 20 years, but the backup was only from 2014 as I sold the site then was given it back.

I've looked at the cloud but I'll stick with the stand alone version for the time being as it's cheaper for me. 👍

Hi @boro_boy,

That is really unfortunate, and I would definitely agree with those above suggesting a new hosting service. You'd think that backups would be common practice nowadays.

If you ever wanted to look more into our Cloud, you know where to find us. The beginner plan starts at just $49 per month.
