Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted December 8, 20222 yr Hi, We've had issues with Authy SMS 2FA not working on our community. I reached out to Authy and they have advised that it has been discontinued and they have changed the product for SMS 2FA to 'Verify'. They shared an article on how to migrate. I'm guessing this is 1 for the Invision devs? https://www.twilio.com/blog/migrate-authy-to-verify Liam
December 8, 20222 yr Community Expert Please could you provide me with the full message they sent over to you?
December 8, 20222 yr Author Sure: Hi Liam, Thank you for reaching out to Twilio Support, we are here to help you with any questions you may have regarding our services. Twilio is replacing the Authy API with the Verify API, starting with the SMS/Voice Authentication features. We ended support for the SMS/Voice service of the Authy API on November 1, 2022, and we plan to fully deprecate it by May 1, 2023. Given this, I'm sorry to say that we can't help you troubleshoot this SMS/Voice issue. However, we encourage you to migrate your users from the Authy API to the Verify API using the instructions available here. You can also see our documentation Getting Started with the Verify V2 API. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you and your business, and are here to help you make the transition as smooth as possible. If you have any issues migrating to Verify, please let us know. We’ll be here to help. Kind regards,D Venkat Shyam.Twilio Support.
December 8, 20222 yr Community Expert This being the case, I can get this sent on to our developers, however note it does say the service itself is still active. Its just not supported at present. What issue is it you are having when you try to use this?
December 8, 20222 yr Author Appreciate it. SMS just doesn't work - getting this error. Haven't changed anything on Authy side and confirmed multiple times that everything is configured, API's are correct etc.
December 8, 20222 yr Community Expert Solution Have you tried removing and re-adding Authy to your account? I am seeing a "User not found in application" which makes me wonder if the account got disassociated between your community and Authy. If that does not work, I will need to escalate this to a ticket.
May 9, 20232 yr Community Expert This issue has been resolved in 4.7.10, which was just released. Authy was removed from the platform, as this was taken over. Verify has now been added as its replacement. Please upgrade to that release if you are seeing this issue, and if you see any further problems, please let us know.
May 9, 20232 yr Author Okay, thanks. Do you know when the new update will be available to cloud users and will the removal of Authy disallow members requiring it to login?
May 10, 20232 yr Community Expert The update is already available. If you upgrade, you shouldnt ned to change anything if you already have authy in place. It should just work.
