Hi there, I have enabled the picks module in CP and placed the block on the page, however I cannot see how to select a post to feature in the picks module?

Also are picks restricted to admin or moderators or guests as well?

Hi there, I've taken all the steps in the guide, thank you, however when I click on the promote button I get the message:

The page you are trying to access is not available for your account. To configure who can access which areas of your site, go to Admin CP → System → Applications.

Not sure what to do next?

 

Have you checked in that area to ensure you have not limited permissions to your user group? If you cannot find it, please let us know the name of the user you are logged in as

User groups are admin so they shouldn't have any permission problems.

Profiles I've tried are both ""starstriker"" and ""nickaltair""

Both show same error

You appear to have promote disabled entirely at a module level. Go to Admin CP → System → Applications, expand the system application, and you will see promote is disabled

Thanks Marc, I have enabled it at a system level and selected 3 posts to promote, however the Our Picks module doesn't seem to display yet. Is there some kind of delay? I also get this message when promoting a post. Does that mean the promotion module must be enabled to expose it to non-logged in visitors? My aim was to show them to both logged in and non-logged in visitors. Thanks for your help - error message below: 

Not all people will have permission to view this item but will see some details.

People in the Customer groups will be shown an error message with a request to log in or register when attempting to load the link. People that do not have permission to see this item will see the item title and any promoted text.

Belay that - there was indeed a delay and it's now working. Thanks for your help very much appreciated.

Glad to hear it's working! The Our Picks block is cached so it can take some time to appear there per your settings 🙂 .
