Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted September 29, 20222 yr So far, I can see that one way to embed images from the gallery into a forum post is to copy the image address in the gallery and add that inside the post in order to have the actual image displayed instead of just a link. Is that the most effective way or is there a different way? I want to make sure that the same image does not end up to be uploaded twice.
September 29, 20222 yr That is CURRENTLY the most effective way. What you're suggesting is actually something I recently suggested as well in a reply to Matt when he was asking about how we used gallery.
September 29, 20222 yr Solution In the Editor, in the attachment area - click Other Media > Insert existing attachment. It will then list files uploaded elsewhere in the suite, including Gallery images.

January 1, 20232 yr Author Members have tried embeding images in their posts, today, but the links still show as links. Here are a couple of examples: https://scrapbookcampus.com/invision/forums/topic/1255-what-are-you-working-on-in-january-2023/ https://scrapbookcampus.com/invision/forums/topic/1262-theme-challenge-new-year/ Is there a setting that I might have been missing in the CP?

I copied both of those items and did not have any issues with them embedding. Just be careful of the first as that is the direct link to the image, which can break for a multitude of reasons. The second post which is a link to the Gallery image page is what they will want to embed. Just ensure that the users do not click the "Display as a link instead" button just below the editor as that will display it as a link rather than the embed in my screenshot here:
