How can I add images with links in the forum header?

I would like to add small images to the right of my Site Logo (in order to link to affiliate websites).

I have tried editing my theme and entering some HTML under the "Header and Footer" tab but that does not allow me to insert the images to the right of the Site Logo (only above it).

Should I start editing my theme's globalTemplate file?

You can look in the globalTemplate, however I expect you'll actually be editing somewhere else.

{template="logo" app="core" group="global" params=""}

If you notice where the logo is displayed, it's loading another template called "logo". So you might need to do your editing/customization there within your theme.
