Help!

I ran the utf8mb4 conversion but I don't actually have access to our server. I've got a message into our IT guy but it's a weekend so not expecting to hear back today and in the meantime our forum is inaccessible. 

If I just hit 'finish' without making the changes to the server, is that going to harm anything?

By "hitting finish without making the change" do you mean the last step where you're supposed to make the change in conf_global.php?

Depending on the charset you converted from you might see errors and the forum won't load until the change is applied.

You may see issues. You really need to ensure you have that line in place in your conf_global.php file
