I am wondering if this is possible? I made a secondary group with the color yellow but the main member group being white is still what showed. Is it possible to change an individual member's color without changing the whole group? Or is it possible to make a secondary group's color to show instead of the main one?

That's not possible. You need an application (or a plugin) for that kind of functionality. I don't remember seeing anything like that in the marketplace though so you'll need one coded for you.
