Hello,

I have 2 questions:

1. How can I remove "NEW" icons from appearing at the main forum page? 

2. Is there a way to change date format from US - mm/dd/yy to european - dd/mm/yy?

You would need to remove that from your custom theme, or contact the author to do that on your behalf.
