I'm trying to embed a Facebook Post into one of my forum posts, but it just show up as a link and not as an embed.

Hey Russell,

In an ideal world Facebook would have an open embed endpoint and we could use that.

Sadly they don't, so you need to set up an App at Facebook and get it through approval.

You now need to request it, looking at their new documentation. Go to "App review" on the left, and select "permissions and features". Search for oembed read

I wasn't having a go, just to see if you can set it up, then they'd be more chance of a guide working.

I'm trying to get Facebook posts to embed on my board and I've followed the steps to make it work (I think). They still won't embed, but am I understanding correctly that Facebook needs to review it before my board is approved for embedding? If so, I'll just wait it out. If not, then I'm doing something wrong because it still isn't working.

That sucks, but not a huge big deal. My members want it, but I think the Twitter/X embedding is more important to them.

I haven't looked into this yet, but will Bluesky embed? I honestly hadn't ever even heard of that one until recently. 

Is this still an issue? I can't get FB posts to embed, either using the link or embed code...

Yes, this has been an issue a long while now. Unfortunately, they are simply making it almost impossible to integrate with them. Some have had limited success when getting themselves verified as a business, but for the most part it tends not to work
