Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted December 29, 20213 yr Hi, I recently purchased a new skin/theme for my Invision forum. I have installed it succesfully, but when I go to Customization --> Themes, and I try to use the Edit button and set to "Set To Members Theme", it doesn't work. It just stays in default mode. The theme (Pro Red) has a 4.6.9, and version of the Invision version I use is also 4.6.9, so that doesn't seems to be the problem. I've also tried other themes but they didn't work either. What am I doing wrong? Do I have to enable "Designers Mode"? I tried doing that but then the forum wouldn't show up.
December 29, 20213 yr This is a misunderstanding of that function. It switches peoples theme if they have manually selected a theme. To set it as the default, you need to edit the theme, then set it as default using the switch provided
December 29, 20213 yr Author Hi. Does this mean the switch "Default Front-end Theme"? I tried that too. It now has the green button for "default", but the forum still is not showing up with this theme?
December 29, 20213 yr Thats the one, yes. It sounds like you have a theme manually selected for yourself. Im not seeing a default unaltered theme when I look at your site. What theme are you trying to use?
December 29, 20213 yr Author Huh. You mean I've been uploading a theme only for my own profile? Strange. Its the "Pro Red" one I'm trying to use. Well, it looks like this.
December 29, 20213 yr Have you given everyone permission to use the theme? Setting it as default won't work if they don't have permission to use it...

I believe Im actually seeing that theme. Please update your access details on file, and let me know the user you are logging in as to test
December 29, 20213 yr Author Yes, looks like it works now! I just had to change it manually from my own user. I suppose for all other users this will be default if I simply set it as such... and they won't have to change it manually too?
