New IP.Download changes suck.

Removing the ability for file authors to upload new versions while the file is pending is an awful solution to a very rare issue. This drastically changes how the application works, and will require websites like mine to completely re-invent the uploading process.

I wished we would have been given a heads up... Or at least some mention in the change notes. How can you change something so big and not even include it in the change notes? Something has to change here. You cannot expect websites to have to force users to re-submit the file entirely just to release a new update post-approval.

This REALLY sucks here in marketplace too. File submitter should have the ability to delete the pending version. Here on IPS we need to waste our and moderator time by submitting a ticket to request to cancel and wait a day or two for it get deleted.

I'm sorry, that was my fault. I missed adding this change to the changelog. I have added it now.

You know that isn't true, I looked up the last request you sent (which you don't do that often anyway) and it was dealt with in less than 3 hours. That isn't quite what the OP is talking about though. It's a change specifically for new file submissions before they are approved.

I don't think this should be an issue with some of the automation we are working on. We can certainly revisit afterwards if there's still an issue.

Any chance on reverting this? This is such an awful change, and seems more of a fix-all rather than an actual solution.
