Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted August 31, 20213 yr After our site relaunched I tried to send a bulk email to users who hadn't logged in for more than 90 days to try and re-activate them, about 5800 users all together. After about 300 emails the rest failed and now I have 200+ pages of failed emails all with the error: > MAIL FROM:<admin@brfcs.com> and that's all. If I click to resend, it works, but there's 200+ pages of them, is it possible to resend them all?
September 1, 20213 yr Community Expert Solution What method/service is set up to send emails? My guess would be that you use your hosting provider and they limit the amount of mails you can send out.
September 1, 20213 yr Author Yeah, it's using GMail's smtp service, I guess they'll limit it fairly heavily.
September 1, 20213 yr Yes, they have a limit of 500 emails per day https://support.google.com/mail/answer/22839?hl=en#zippy=%2Cyou-have-reached-a-limit-for-sending-mail Quote You may see this message if you send an email to a total of more than 500 recipients in a single email and or more than 500 emails sent in a day.
September 5, 20213 yr Author Time to get the cap in hand out & go to the beancounters for some money to buy Sendgrid 😉
September 5, 20213 yr 53 minutes ago, brfcs said: for some money to buy Sendgrid It's free for 100 mails per day ( plan your bulk mails and you won't have to pay for it;) ) Or get Amazon SES, which is also a free alternative to sendgrid, but comes with 62000 free emails each month:)
September 6, 20213 yr Author Can I integrate SES the same way Sendgrid is? I thought SG was the only option.
September 7, 20213 yr Community Expert You can set up any mail that uses SMTP by adding the relevant details into the email settings area. You can see how to do this here if needed
