I've recently created another database with articles directly stored in the database without categories.

I can't find the setting that enables reactions, so the articles and comments in this database don't have any reactions showing.

In another (older) database the articles have reactions enabled.

It should work automatically. Reactions are a member group setting, not specific to certain areas. Are you sure you not just looking at your own entries, which will not have a react button. 

Thank you! That really must've slipped my mind, I tested everything with my own content. Since I didn't have the option "members can react to own content" enabled it didn't show up for me.
