Hello,

With my admin account, MySQL crashes when I want to access to mysite.com/discover/unread:

With all others members, there is no problem.

I manage to "solve" problem choosing "I will choose which content to include" + "Topics" instead of "All content".

IPS Support don't assist with server related issues.

I try various mysqld config options without success.

If someone have an idea how to solve this problem!

Your server is likely underpowered and/or needs its configurations optimized. MySQL server goes away errors are typically related to timeouts. Timeouts happen when things take too long, and things take too long when they're not optimized or overloaded. You may consider using elasticsearch instead of MySQL for searches if the size of your community makes sense for that.

Work with your web host to diagnose or take a look at some of the third-party providers that do this work for you if you cannot.

Server is OK, Xeon E3, RAM 32 GB, SSD...

MySQL crashes after only 2 seconds, while timeout is much more.

It's very weird.

Because after the crash, MySQL restart, the site is down during 5 seconds the time that MySQL restarted completely.

You need to check the configuration variables of mysql. Check the memory related ones first.

If nothing wrong there, then reinstall MariaDB.

Btw: from a quick view, nothing in that query is worrysome. No joins... no nested selects.. i see nothing to worry there. Having a big query doesn't mean it will take a proportionally big execution time.

Have you tried downgrading to a previous stable version?

I'm not having the time to downgrade atm. This is why I had to disable the stream as a temporary solution.

Have you checked your hardware? Failing disk perhaps?

That's not a particularly large query and queries should never crash your database daemon.

Have you checked your disk for corruption/failure?

The problem appears both on prod and local environments.
