Hi all.

Waited for several months before upgrading from 4.4 to 4.5. Just did. Worked. Started looking around new admincp. Was hoping to link applications in marketplace. About five minutes into my new experience, I got locked out of the forum's admincp; the invision community sign in window came up.

Currently, I can log in and out of the front end (and modcp) but not admincp. It just will not take my login and password. Have tried emptying cache, different browser, no luck.

Any thoughts before I open a ticket?

Thanks!

Are you still an admin? Did you have your group changed by any chance? If so, you can access your database via PMA and edit your user group.

Hey Adriano. Long time...

I think I'm still Admin. I changed nothing during the upgrade.

I looked on my profile, on the front end, and I seem to still be in the Administrators group.

Apologies... what's the PMA?

PHPMyAdmin, a database manager.

Gotcha. Good idea, I'll go look in the tables.

You should have value 4 in member_group_id in core_members table.

There’s also a file in uploads/logs/ folder. You can see its content via FTP. I don’t remember the name but it stores the system errors.

Same table says I have 0 failed login attempts?? Weird.

I wonder if it's anything to do with the Marketplace?? I was about to start renewing apps by connecting them (including yours, obviously!!). I did notice that the connect apps message that I thought would appear did not. Weird.

Try to find the file. If you can’t or there isn’t anything logged in it, your best bet is to submit a support ticket.

Just checked. The last logged error is February 09, so I'm not even getting an error.

Opening a ticket now.

Try and register a new member, and through PMA change the group of this new member to 4.
Try ACP login with a new member.
Check the profile of your primary admin account - it's probably locked.

Thank you so much for the idea. I tried but it did not work.

😪

I hope IPS gets back to me quickly because I only have three days worth of backup on my system so if I don't get it resolved by tomorrow before noon, I'll loose the last backup of the installation. Basically, if I don't hear by 10 tomorrow, I'll have to revert to my 4.4 backup and try again.

In some cases, the group won't matter. Even if the user is in the admin group, he won't be able to access the ACP if the admin group was removed from being able to access the ACP ( Admin => Members => Administrators)

Anyway, please see your ticket reply so that we can resolve this ASAP 🙂

Update to all. Reverted to my 4.4 backup. Re-upgraded. Seems to have worked. The only thing I did different was deactivate my 2FA and pre-deactivate all apps and plugins.

Thanks all for your help.

Sounds good, when software smiles...
